A key ingredient of the culture at HITK is a spirit of giving back. Early on, we discovered the Ardmore Studio in South Africa, a group of artisans creating magnificent one-of-a-kind painted ceramic pieces. These individuals live amid the hardship of a region facing an AIDS pandemic and the Ardmore Studio provides food, housing, and medical expenses as well as artistic mentoring. Once a year, we convert our agency space into an art gallery to sell these unique pieces. In the past 6 years, sales have generated over $100,000 for the Ardmore studio, positively affecting the lives of these artists.
